Notre exposition "Être là" se termine ce week-end, les 12-13 septembre, donc dernière chance de la voir ! Arno Rafael Minkkinen, né en 1945, est un des artistes de cette exposition en duo.

"Mes premières photos prises en Finlande, à Nauvo, m'ont confirmé le caractère sacré de la nudité. Cette nudité essentielle qui imprègne toute la nature nous entoure aussi. En Finlande, où la nature peut se révéler dans toute sa splendeur, être nu et seul dans la forêt ou sur un rivage offre peut-être l'expérience la plus proche de la création. J'adore enfoncer mes orteils dans le sol forestier ou me promener pieds nus et fesses à l'air sur les rochers au bord du lac, tel un singe au paradis."

Our exhibition 'Being There' runs until this weekend, 12-13 September, so last chance to see it! Arno Rafael Minkkinen, born in 1945, is one of the artists of this double exhibition.

"My first photographs in Finland, taken in Nauvo, confirmed for me the sanctity of nudity. The essential bareness that surrounds everything in nature surrounds us as well. In Finland, where nature can be at its most glorious, to be nude and alone in the forest or on some shoreline vista may be the closest one will ever get to the experience of creation. I love digging my toes into the forest floor or navigating the boulders along the lake shores barefoot and bare ass like a monkey in heaven."

Gaspard Noël, né en 1985, est un photographe d’art contemporain basé à Lille. Il est un des artistes de notre exposition en duo "Être là".

"Depuis plus de vingt ans, je photographie mon propre corps dans la nature. J'étais jadis très entreprenant. Aujourd'hui, je marche, je m'arrête, j'attends l'invitation du lieu. Le corps n'est plus l'outil d'expression de mon imagination : il est l'organe complice par lequel le monde se déploie.

Mon objectif consiste à révéler un seuil. Il s'agit de tenir le moment où la spécificité humaine — tout en rejoignant la forêt, l'eau, la pierre — demeure distincte. Le philosophe David Abram appelle more-than-human world ce tissu vivant qui nous lie à notre environnement sans que ni l'un ni l'autre ne s'y dissolvent. C'est cette relation qui est le sujet de mon travail."

Attention, derniers jours : l'exposition se tient jusqu'au 13 septembre. Vous pouvez rencontrer Gaspard Noël sur place le 5 et le 12 septembre.

Gaspard Noël is a contemporary art photographer born in 1985 and based in Lille. He is one of the artists of our double exhibition 'Being there'.

"For more than twenty years, I have photographed my own body in nature. I was once a forceful one. Today, I walk, I stop, I wait for the invitation of the place. The body is no longer the instrument through which I express my imagination: it is the willing organ through which the world unfolds.

My aim is to reveal a threshold. It is a matter of holding the moment when human singularity — while joining the forest, the water, the stone — remains distinct. The philosopher David Abram calls more-than-human world this living fabric that binds us to our environment without either one dissolving into the other. This relation is the subject of my work."

Last days: the exhibition runs until 13 September. You can meet Gaspard Noël on site on 5 and 12 September.
